Blacksmith (3 years)

Blacksmith level 4, level training, vocational secondary education, 3 years.

Persons with basic education or those at least 22 years of age without basic education but who have corresponding competencies are welcome to study.

The aim of the curriculum is that the student acquires the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to work independently as a team member in the field of blacksmithing and to create prerequisites for continuing studies and lifelong learning.
The Blacksmith acquires knowledge and practical skills in the history of Estonian folk culture and ironwork, its design and representation; blacksmithing technology and forging; locksmith and welding work; blacksmithing business and product development.
Under the guidance of teachers, students learn about metals, make technological tests, try different blacksmith tools and design various objects. In addition to basic studies, it is possible to acquire practical skills in leatherwork, sheet metal work, clay pottery and photography.

Studies are considered completed if the curriculum has been studied in full, the student has acquired the learning outcomes of the curriculum at least at the threshold level and passed the Blacksmith, level 4 vocational examination.
